It was founded in 1951 by the Acalanes Union High School District, and opened its doors in the fall of 1952 to its first graduating class.

It is a traditional high school serving grades 9-12, and has a history of both athletic and educational excellence.

They also have multiple Digital Design courses, using Adobe Suite, that provide dual enrollment with DVC.

There are options for physical education courses, including Yoga, Team Sports, and Weight Training.
