He won a gold medal in 2002, in his second event, defeating Australia's Hugh Millikin in the final.

At the 2003 World University Games, Lee's Korean rink picked up a bronze medal.

Later in the season, Lee represented Korea for the first time at the World Championships, by virtue of winning the Pacific region in 2002.

At the 2003 Ford World Men's Curling Championship, Korea finished in last place.

Two years later he won a silver medal at the 2010 Pacific Curling Championships, losing to China's Wang Fengchun in the final.
