Lee Sharp Lorenz (October 17, 1932 – December 8, 2022) was an American cartoonist most notable for his work in The New Yorker.
[3][4] After studying at North Junior High School in Newburgh, New York, where he starred in student productions, he continued with his education at Carnegie Tech and Pratt Institute.
[6] Lorenz was a musician who played cornet with his own group, the Creole Cookin' Jazz Band.
[5] Lorenz is featured drawing in Lyda Ely's documentary film Funny Business (2009), which visited the studios of 11 cartoonists for The New Yorker.
