Leonty Kuznetsov

Leonty Vasilyevich Kuznetsov (Russian: Леонтий Васильевич Кузнецов; born on 13 August 1938) is a Russian retired military leader who served as a Commander of the Moscow Military District from 1992 to 1999.

Kuznetsov was born on 13 August 1938, in the city of Arkadak, Saratov Oblast.

After studying at a vocational school, he worked as a turner at the Saratov plant "Hammer and Sickle" in 1961.

He was Head of the Main Operational Directorate and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the United Armed Forces of the States – Members of the Commonwealth of Independent States from September 1991 to July 1992.
