Leucotrichum

Leucotrichum is a genus of ferns in the family Polypodiaceae, subfamily Grammitidoideae, according to the Pteridophyte Phylogeny Group classification of 2016 (PPG I).

[2] The name of the genus refers to the white hairs that are usually present on the underside of the frond.

In 2004, a phylogenetic study of DNA sequences of grammitids showed that a few species of Lellingeria are not closely related to the others.

[5] As of February 2020[update], the Checklist of Ferns and Lycophytes of the World accepted the following species:[6] Leucotrichum has a disjunct distribution.

Leucotrichum mitchellae ranges through Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
