Liberty is a city in Montgomery County, Kansas, United States.
[4] When the railroad was built through the county in 1870, Liberty relocated to its present site.
[6] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.26 square miles (0.67 km2), all of it land.
[7] The climate in this area is characterized by hot, humid summers and generally mild to cool winters.
[8] The 2020 United States census counted 99 people, 46 households, and 30 families in Liberty.

The racial makeup of the city was 91.1% White, 1.6% Native American, and 7.3% from two or more races.
36.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
There were 9.4% of families and 13.5% of the population living below the poverty line, including 33.3% of under eighteens and 8.3% of those over 64.
The community is served by Coffeyville USD 445 public school district.
The character Arthur Howitzer Jr., played by Bill Murray, was from Liberty.
