Lis Harris is an American author and critic[1] and was for 25 years a staff writer on The New Yorker magazine which she left in 1995.
Her work has appeared in The New York Times, The World Policy Journal, Du and the Wilson Quarterly.
Harris joined the full-time faculty of the Writing Program at Columbia University's School of the Arts in 2003.
There, she leads Nonfiction Dialogues, a series of conversations with distinguished writers.
Harris was a Woodrow Wilson Lila Acheson Wallace Fellowship recipient twice.
