A Mississippi Landmark is a building officially nominated by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History and approved by each county's chancery clerk.
[1] Mississippi Landmarks are spread out between eighty-one of Mississippi's eighty-two counties; only Issaquena County has no such landmarks.
In October 2011, the Mississippi Department of Archives and History removed the .pdf listing from its website, adding a searchable database that is kept up-to-date as new landmarks are designated.
This database contains information about many historic buildings in Mississippi, but to return a list of designated Mississippi Landmarks, click the "MS Landmarks" link and enter desired city or county.
