The function of Parliamentary Secretary in Canada was created on 1 April 1943 as Parliamentary Assistant and on 4 June 1959 the office of Parliamentary Secretary was created to replacing that of Parliamentary Assistant.
They are not members of the Cabinet, nor the ministry.
