The series follows the adventures of Pat Clifton, a postman who works for Royal Mail postal service in the fictional village of Greendale (inspired by the real valley of Longsleddale in Cumbria).
John Cunliffe wrote the original treatment and scripts, and was directed by animator Ivor Wood, who also worked on The Magic Roundabout, Paddington, and The Herbs.
A huge parcel arrives at the post office and it squashes Pat's glasses after he puts them down on the counter.
Pat still cannot see properly, meaning he cannot read or drive, so Ted offers to take him in his lorry.
Bonnie goes missing, so Pat and Julian brave the thunderstorm to find her.
