The Ohio Valley Conference (OVC), full-time home of Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood, and Southern Indiana, started a men's soccer league in 2023, taking with it all three schools.

Valparaiso first sponsored men's soccer in 1988, Southwest Missouri State (now Missouri State) began playing soccer in the conference in 1989, and Oakland did not compete in conference play during its first season as a member in 1998.
