Tornadoes in the U.S. State of Washington are rare, with an average of 2–3 tornadoes touching down within state boundaries annually.

Tornadoes can occur any time of year in Washington but most commonly occur in April, May and June.

Tornadoes in Washington state can suddenly happen and then stop.

Due to the state's landscape, they usually don't last very long and are weak.
