List of Western Australian locomotive classes

The majority of Western Australian steam locomotive classes were operated by the Western Australian Government Railways (WAGR).

Regularly scheduled steam working ceased on WAGR mainline operations after 1971 - with only special excursion or enthusiasts trains being hauled by steam after that time.

Many private organisations also operated steam locomotives in Western Australia.
