Michael Douglas is an American actor and producer known for his starring roles in film and television.

He has received several honors including the AFI Life Achievement Award in 2009, two Honorary Césars in 1998 and 2016, a Film Society at Lincoln Center Gala Tribute in 2010, a Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2004, and a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018.

Douglas won two Academy Awards, his first for Best Picture for producing the drama One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975), and Best Actor for his role as Gordon Gekko in the drama film Wall Street (1987).

The later also won him the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

He won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture alongside the ensemble of Traffic (2000).
