Aunor is the only performer in the long history of FAMAS Awards to be nominated for fifteen straight years, from 1973 to 1987.

In 2013, she received the Light of Culture Awards from Philippine Centre of the International Theatre Institute and the ITI-Earthsavers UNESCO Dream Center for pioneering in the integration of theater, television, and film.
[7] On September 17, 2015, Aunor was conferred the Gawad CPP para sa Sining for Film and Broadcast Arts, the highest award given by the Cultural Center of the Philippines.
Aunor has the most lifetime achievement awards received locally and internationally for her contribution to film, television, music, and theater.
