List of ships captured in the 18th century

Naval engagements were common throughout the 18th century and repeatedly resulted in the capture of enemy vessels.

These ships were often renamed and subsequently incorporated into the capturing nation's navy.

Merchant ships were also seized and repurposed for military service.
