List of shipwrecks in 1789

The List of shipwrecks in 1789 includes some ships sunk, wrecked or otherwise lost during 1789.

The Roebuck-class ship was in collision with an iceberg in the Southern Ocean (44°S 41°E / 44°S 41°E / -44; 41) and was severely damaged.

Two hundred and fifty-nine of the 321 people on board abandoned ship.

HMS Guardian was taken in to Saldanha Bay, where she would be wrecked on 12 April 1790.
