World War I: Convoy OR 51: The troopship was torpedoed and sunk in the Atlantic Ocean 100 nautical miles (190 km) west of Ouessant, Finistère, France (47°31′N 7°09′W / 47.517°N 7.150°W / 47.517; -7.150) by SM U-86 ( Imperial German Navy) with the loss of six of her crew.
