Lodgepole is a village in Cheyenne County, Nebraska, United States.
Lodgepole was founded in 1867 when the Union Pacific Railroad was extended to that point.
[4] It took its name from Lodgepole Creek, where it was assumed the Native Americans had cut trees to make poles for their lodges.
[5] According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.48 square miles (1.24 km2), all land.
35.7% of all households were made up of individuals, and 17.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
The racial makeup of the village was 99.14% White, 0.57% Native American and 0.29% Asian.
