Lorne Allan Kopelchuk (b. August 4, 1938[1]) is a farmer and former political figure in Saskatchewan.
[1] As part of an investigation into fraudulent use of communications allowances by Progressive Conservative members of the Saskatchewan legislature, Kopelchuk was charged with using a false expense claim to pay $1,568 for an electronic public address system.
In addition, the actual cost of the system was $1,005; the balance went to John Scraba, communications director for the Saskatchewan Progressive Conservative party.
The PA system and podium were donated to the Town of Canora prior to the charges.
The judge acquitted him, deciding that there was no evidence that Kopelchuk was aware of the misleading invoice.
