Louis Muhlstock

(April 23, 1904 – August 26, 2001) was a Canadian painter best known for his depictions of the Great Depression and for landscapes and urban scenes in and around Montreal.

[3] He spent summers sketching in the provinces or visiting museums in Belgium (1928–1931).

He had a solo exhibition in 1949 at the National Gallery of Canada, which travelled to several cities.

[5] In 2010, his work was exhibited as part of the McCord Museum's Jewish Painters of Montreal: Witnesses of Their Time, 1930-1948.

[1] In 1978, he was awarded a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa from Concordia University.
