Lucien Schaeffer

Lucien Schaeffer (6 June 1928 – 28 December 2016)[5][6] was a French football goalkeeper who was a member of the French squad at the 1948 Summer Olympics,[7][8] but he did not play in any matches.

[10] He started football at FC Eschau[11] and FAIG.

[12] In 1945, he was recruited by RC Strasbourg, starting as an amateur player until 1948[13] With them he won the 1951 Coupe de France (which was the first ever honor of the club)[14] while he was the starting goalkeeper.

[17] He was selected in France Football squad for the 1948 Summer Olympics,[18][19] but was an unused substitute for the two Games against India[20] and Great Britain,[21] as France were eliminated in the Quarterfinals.
