Lugnez is a former municipality in the district of Porrentruy in the canton of Jura in Switzerland.
[3] On 1 January 2023, Damphreux and Lugnez were merged to form the new municipality of Damphreux-Lugnez.
Of the rest of the land, 0.31 km2 (0.12 sq mi) or 6.1% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.01 km2 (2.5 acres) or 0.2% is either rivers or lakes.
[6] The municipality is located in the Porrentruy district, in the eastern portion of the Ajoie.
The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Argent, a Saltire engrailed Gules.
[10] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (194 or 85.5%) as their first language, German is the second most common (26 or 11.5%) and Portuguese is the third (4 or 1.8%).

In the federal election, a total of 87 votes were cast, and the voter turnout was 51.5%.
[10] There were 106 residents of the municipality who were employed in some capacity, of which females made up 39.6% of the workforce.
In the tertiary sector; 1 was in the sale or repair of motor vehicles, and 1 was a technical professional or scientist.
[10] From the 2000 census[update], 180 or 79.3% were Roman Catholic, while 25 or 11.0% belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church.
This is followed by three years of obligatory lower Secondary school where the students are separated according to ability and aptitude.
