Luigi Travaglino (born 6 September 1939) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who has worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See since 1970, as a nuncio and archbishop since 1992.
Luigi Travaglino was born on 6 September 1939 in Brusciano, Province of Naples, Italy.
[1] He continued his studies at the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy[2] and entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1970.
His postings included Bolivia, Ethiopia, Portugal, Scandinavia and Iceland, Zaire, San Salvador, the Netherlands, and Greece.
[1] Pope Benedict XVI appointed him on 5 January 2011 the permanent observer of the Holy See to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and International Fund for Agricultural Development and the World Food Program[1] and on 8 September 2012 added the title of to Apostolic Nuncio to Monaco.
