Luxembourg at the 1988 Winter Olympics

Luxembourg competed at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Alberta, Canada from 13–28 February 1988.

The Luxembourgian delegation consisted of a single alpine skier, the Austrian-born Marc Girardelli.

[6] Considered a "dominant figure" in alpine skiing, the Austrian-born Girardelli had been forced to miss the 1980 and 1984 Winter Olympics over issues with his citizenship.

[8] The downhill was held on 15 February, in this single-run race Girardelli posted a time of 2 minutes and 2.59 seconds, which put him in ninth place.

[13] Four years later, at the 1992 Winter Olympics he would win two silver medals for Luxembourg.
