He was the third generation of his family to be chairman of the Muthoot Group,[1] and the former Lay Trustee of the Indian Orthodox Church.
[citation needed] At the time he took over the operations at Muthoot, the Group had 31 branches in four states, namely Kerala, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Haryana.
Muthoot was a member of the executive committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and the Chairman of the FICCI Kerala State Council.
