Macario Peralta Jr.

Peralta finished his Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of the Philippines Manila, graduating cum laude, in 1936.

After the surrender of the USAFFE troops to the Japanese, Peralta, then a Colonel, organized and led the guerrillas in Panay,[1]: 110  Romblon, Palawan, Marinduque and portions of Masbate and Mindoro, all in or bordering the Western Visayas.

Returning to military control in 1945, he was subsequently sent to the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, in the United States for advanced studies.

He resigned from the Army in 1946 and was appointed by President Manuel Roxas as Chairman of the Philippine Veterans Board, a position he served until 1949.

He died on December 30, 1965,[3] and is buried at the Balantang Memorial Cemetery National Shrine in Jaro, Iloilo City.
