[4] He made his professional debut on 26 March 2015, starting in a 0–0 draw against Brønshøj in the Danish 1st Division.

[5] On 14 July 2016, Lyngby announced Kaalund's departure as he opted to join newly promoted Danish 1st Division club Nykøbing.

[6][7] In June 2018, he extended his contract with Nykøbing until 2019 after two successful seasons at the club, during which he made his breakthrough.
