[2][3] The 3rd general convention of Tarul Dal which was held in Chitawan, July 17–20, 2007 had elected Mahendra Yadav as the new president of Nepal Tarun Dal.
[4] He is close to former DPM Bimalendra Nidhi and PM Sher Bahadur Deuba from the same time he supported Nepali Congress (Democratic) whose president was Deuba and general secretary was Nidhi.
[5] He joined Deuba cabinet on 26 July 2017 as Minister of Water Supply and Sanitation.
[6][7] He filled candidacy from Dhanusha-4 but lost by small margin due to caste factor, intra-party misunderstanding and two Yadav candidates in field.
[8] Previously, he represented in both constituent assemblies from proportional list of Nepali Congress.
