126 of February 18, 1943, in accordance with the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union "On the Introduction Of New Insignia For the Personnel Of the Organs And Troops Of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs" of February 9, 1943, instead of the existing buttonholes were introduced new insignia – shoulder straps, and also approved the rules for wearing uniforms by personnel of the organs and troops of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union.
