Griffin played high school basketball at Hyde Park Career Academy at Chicago, Illinois.
Griffin also earned South MVP honors in the Chicago Classic All-Star Game, scoring 28 points in just 13 minutes of action.
He scored a career-high 31 points against Northern Illinois and had back-to-back 25-point games against Ball State and Bowling Green.
As a senior he was a 1st team All-American and All-Conference once again, leading the Pacific West Conference in points, assists and steals.
After going undrafted in the 2014 NBA draft, Griffin joined Wydad Athletic Club Casablanca at Morocco.

On April 27, 2019, Griffin parted ways with AEK to join Hapoel Jerusalem of the Israeli Premier League for the rest of the season.
