Manila Philippines Temple

The LDS Church was officially recognized in the Philippines in 1961 and in a meeting with servicemen, American residents, and Filipino members on 28 April 1961, Gordon B. Hinckley dedicated the country.

Earlier that year, the church had purchased land in Quezon City, in the Metro Manila area.

Beginning on December 2, 1989, during the 1989 Philippine coup attempt, rebel forces briefly occupied the temple grounds and some surrounding auxiliary buildings.

[5] The Manila Philippines Temple also serves members in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Cambodia, Burma, Micronesia, Guam, and Kwajalein.

[7] In 2020, the LDS Church canceled services temporarily in response to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
