[3][4] He previously held the appointment of General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Army Training Command.

[5] He earlier served as the Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Perspective Planning & Financial Development) at HQ IDS,[6] prior to this he was General Officer Commanding XVI Corps.

[10] He was commissioned into 19th Battalion of the Madras Regiment on 20 December 1986 from the Indian Military Academy.
