He had surgery on his ankle in 2020, and split his training time between Ulm and Leverkusen during 2020.

[6] He finished fourth in the pentathlon at the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Istanbul in March 2023.

[7][8] He placed eleventh in the decathlon at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest.

Competing in the decathlon he finished in seventh place overall with a tally of 8212 points.
