Manuel Montoya Fernández (18 October 1959 – 2 September 2024) was a Spanish handball coach and manager for both the Romanian and Iranian national teams.
He had a PhD in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences and was a professor at the INEFc University in Barcelona.
[1] On 14 September 2018, he signed a two-year contract to coach the Romania national team, replacing Xavier Pascual Fuertes who previously resigned.
[3][4] On 20 July 2021, he signed a contract to coach the Iran national team.
