Political Science, Massachusetts Institute of Technology – MIT Maria Carmen de Mello Lemos is Professor of Environment and Sustainability and co-director of the Great Lakes Integrated Sciences and Assessments Center at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and Senior Policy Scholar at the Udall Center for the Study of Public Policy at the University of Arizona.
Lemos is an established climate policy analyst whose research focuses primarily on environmental public policymaking in Latin America and the US, especially related to climate change adaptation and adaptive capacity building.
[citation needed] Lemos has overseen and empirically investigated numerous co-production projects, has worked with a number of knowledge networks, and has decades of experience leading interdisciplinary teams to convey scientific information across diverse audiences.
During 2006–2007 she was a James Martin 21st Century School Fellow at the Environmental Change Institute at Oxford University.
