Acosta competed in the women's freestyle 69 kg event at the 2016 Summer Olympics, in which she was eliminated in the round of 16 by Enas Mostafa.

[7][8] In 2023, Acosta lost her bronze medal match in her event at the Pan American Wrestling Championships held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

[9] She was eliminated in her first match in the 76 kg event at the 2023 World Wrestling Championships held in Belgrade, Serbia.

[10] Acosta won one of the bronze medals in her event at the 2023 Pan American Games held in Santiago, Chile.
