Marie-Louise Rochebillard (4 June 1860 – 30 January 1936) was a French Social Catholic and pioneer of female trade union activity.
[1] With a change in the family fortunes, from the age of sixteen Marie-Louise was given "the great honor of working for a living".
[4] The founders took advice from the corporation of Lyon silk works employees, a Christian workers' union founded in 1886.
The statutes of the new unions ensured that the founders would control the administration, and defined the aims including creation of professional courses, employment offices and institutions to provide mutual aid and assurance.
After World War I (1914–18) she moved to La Ferrandière, a home for young women, where she died on 30 January 1936.
