Marie Brizard et Roger International is a French alcoholic beverage company founded in 1755.
[1] The company sells liquors, pure cane syrups, recipes, and cocktails and mixes.
[2] The founder, Marie Brizard, was born in 1714 in Bordeaux one of 15 children of a barrel carpenter.
[2] In 1755, she took care of an ill West Indian sailor, and in return he gave her a recipe for aniseed liquor.
The company began to grow, and was even presented to King Louis XV.
