John Mark Bailey (born November 4, 1961) is an American former professional baseball player and coach.
He played in Major League Baseball as a catcher from 1984 to 1992 for the Houston Astros and San Francisco Giants.
Bailey was selected by the Astros in the 6th round of the 1982 MLB Draft, and opted to forgo his senior year at SMS to sign professionally.
[2] Bailey made his major league debut with Houston in 1984, and was the team's primary catcher in 1984 and 1985.
After the 1989 season, Bailey signed with the Giants as a free agent, and appeared in a handful of games at the major league level with San Francisco in 1990 and 1992.
