Mark Cleary (born 1954) was the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bradford in Yorkshire from 2007 to 2013.
[1] He took over in 2007 after the previous vice-chancellor, Chris Taylor, retired after 5 years in the position.
Born in Birmingham, Cleary earned his Ph.D. in geography from Jesus College, Cambridge.
In 2003, he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business at the University of Plymouth and assumed his Deputy Vice-Chancellor role there in 2004.
[2] As Vice Chancellor of Bradford University, Cleary announced his intentions to dock the pay of academics who take part in sanctions.
