Martin Amlin (born June 12, 1953) is an American composer and pianist.
[1] He serves as the Mildred P. Gilfillan Professor of Music and Chair of the Department of Composition and Theory at the Boston University College of Fine Arts as well as Senior Director of the Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young Artists Composition Program.
At Eastman he studied piano with Frank Glazer and composition with Joseph Schwantner, Samuel Adler, and Warren Benson.
[3] Amlin has been a resident at Yaddo, MacDowell, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
[3] He has recorded for the Albany, Ashmont Music, Centaur, Crystal, Hyperion, Koch International, MSR Classics, and Wergo labels, and his music is published by the Theodore Presser Company.
