Martin Florian Herz (July 9, 1917 – October 6, 1983) was an American diplomat who served as the United States Ambassador to Bulgaria from April 3, 1974, to August 6, 1977.
[1] During World War Two, Herz served in the Army, rising from the rank of Private to Major.
[citation needed] Between 1950 and 1954, he served as second secretary at the United States embassy in Paris, France.
[citation needed] During his time there he published a report titled "Some Intangible Factors in Iranian Politics", which warned of the instability of the regime of Mohammed Reza Pahlevi.
