Martin Lasarte Topolanski

Martín Lasarte Topolanski SDB (Montevideo, Uruguay, October 25, 1962), is a Uruguayan Catholic priest who works in Angola, currently elected V Bishop of Luena on July 1, 2023.

[1] Martín Lasarte Topolanski was born on October 25, 1962, in Montevideo, Uruguay.

He entered the Salesian novitiate in that city on February 1, 1981, made his first religious vows on January 31, 1982, and perpetual vows on January 31, 1986.

Between 1985 and 1986 he was a member of the Talleres Don Bosco religious community in the Uruguayan capital.

[2] On July 1, 2023, Pope Francis named him Bishop of the Diocese of Lwena.
