Martin Vingron (born October 5 1961) is an Austrian mathematician working in the fields of bioinformatics and computational biology.
[3] He later studied at Heidelberg University and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory, gaining his Dr. rer.
[1] From 1995-2000, Vingron was Director of the Division of Theoretical Bioinformatics at the German Cancer Research Center.
Vingron has also been a member of the Research in Computational Molecular Biology (RECOMB) conference steering committee.
[6] In 2004, together with Gene Myers, Vingron was awarded the Max Planck Research Prize for international cooperation in bioinformatics.
