Maryam Mariya is a Maldivian politician who is serving as the Minister of Agriculture and Animal Welfare.
[4] Born in Malé, Mariya was the daughter of businessman Mohamed Yoosuf (Kuwaa Mohadhey).
[6][7] She received postgraduate teaching and learning at the University of Waikato, New Zealand, where she was a Research Associate.
[4][6][7] Maryam Mariya has worked at various educational institutes such as Waikato University, Maldives National University, Villa College and is now serving as the Minister of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development under the Cabinet of Mohamed Muizzu.
[4][6][7] In December 2024, she's been assigned to watchover the Agriculture Ministry following the resignation of Aishath Rameela as Minister.
