Matapa is a genus of grass skipper butterflies in the family Hesperiidae.
The species of this genus occur in the Indomalayan realm, from India to Sulawesi.

The larvae feed on grasses including Bambusa, Dendrocalamus, Dinochloa, Gigantochloa, Ochlandra, and Oxytenanthera.
