He graduated with first class honours from the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama,[2] and later trained in clowning at École Philippe Gaulier in Paris.

In January 2025, it was announced that Baynton would appear as a contestant on the nineteenth series of the Channel 4 show Taskmaster alongside Fatiha El-Ghorri, Jason Mantzoukas, Rosie Ramsey, and Stevie Martin.
