Matjaž Nemec (born 10 April 1980), is a Slovenian politician, who is currently a member of the European Parliament since 18 May 2022.
Before being elected as a Member of Parliament, he worked as an assistant to the President of Slovenia, Borut Pahor.
In 2013, he graduated from IBS mednarodna poslovna šola Ljubljana, and in 2017, at the same university, he obtained a master's degree in international business and sustainable development.
In the 2014 National Assembly elections, Nemec ran in the electoral district Nova Gorica I.
In 2017, when he was the vice-president of the National Assembly, Nemec described Croatia as "a geographically and politically peripheral country of the European Union, which belongs together with Bulgaria and Romania."
