Matt Vaughn

He played college baseball at UC Davis for head coach Phil Swimley.

He was honorable mention all-conference in his senior season, winning his final three starts as an Aggie.

After being passed over in favor of Rex Peters for the open head coaching position in 2002, Vaughn nearly left the school, but elected instead to remain.

[1][3][4] On November 12, 2021, Vaughn resigned his position with the Aggies following the conclusion of the University's investigation into hazing alligations.
